Available in full-frame high R-values up to R-7.0, this new SeriousWindows Series is ideal for commercial new construction and retrofit particularly in extreme heating- or cooling- dominated climates where high R-value glass is needed. With a full range of low and high solar heat gain glass packages, SeriousWindows enable solar control according to climate zone and orientation for maximum energy efficiency and comfort benefits. SeriousWindows set a new standard in energy efficient commercial windows with their long-lasting, beautifully designed heavy commercial series. Because of the combination of our advanced fiberglass framing system with our prescriptive SeriousGlass SSG packages, the SeriousWindow Heavy Commercial Series outperforms competitive systems. In addition the energy efficient SeriousWindows Heavy Commercial series can contribute up to 19 LEED points making it the window of choice for super insulating commercial buildings. “If you’re building today without LEED, you’re building in obsolescence" Certified by the NFRC, and exceeding ENERGY STAR requirements, the SeriousWindows Heavy Commercial window series provides advanced thermal performance that will outperform in any challenging climate.
Energy Efficient Commercial Window Framing System"Fiberglass has the highest "R" Value of all window frames." -U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) The SeriousWindows Heavy Commercial series was engineered with an advanced fiberglass framing system that greatly reduce air leakage losses, heat gain, and heat loss. Fiberglass is the best insulating fenestration material available on the market. With an extremely low conductivity rate of 0.17 (BTU/h-ft-F), fiberglass’ thermal conductivity is 800x less than aluminum, making it the optimum material for super insulating windows. When combined with equally high-performance insulating glass, SeriousWindows Heavy Commercial series provide some of the highest thermal ratings of any available commercial product. Insulation Comparison by Framing Material
Super insulating Commercial Glass UnitGlass units in windows impact human comfort, energy efficiency, productivity and overall design. It also affects mechanical HVAC design and loads, daylighting, interior condensation control, ultraviolet fading and sound control. The SeriousWindows Heavy Commercial series combines high performance insulated glass units with advanced fiberglass frames as part of an end to end, energy saving, window solution. Combining internally mounted, suspended film with low-e glass creates a lightweight, multi-chambered insulating glass unit that reflects heat and harmful UV radiation while maximizing light transmission, and providing superior full frame insulation performance ranging from R-3 to R-7. Long lasting glass units that weigh the same as typical double pane insulated glass and up to 50% lighter than triple pane glass with the same or better insulation values. Insulation Comparison of Common Commercial Glazing Options*
The Anti-Triple Pane WindowWhereas other commercial windows use three panes of glass to achieve higher insulation performance, SeriousGlass units incorporate suspended film systems that create multiple chambers for high thermal performance. Heavy Commercial SeriousWindows are available in either dual chamber (one film layer) or triple chamber (two film layers) SeriousGlass packages. Beyond super-insulating performance, these SeriousGlass systems achieve high light transmission and 99+% UV blockage through the combination of multiple chambers and low-e coating glass surfaces. Up to 50% lighter than triple-pane windows, SeriousWindows eliminate the weight issues of the older triple-pane design approach. Proven in thousands of commercial and residential projects over nearly 30 years, SeriousGlass has been consistently certified at the Insulating Glass Certification Council’s “A” level over more than two decades, and has been installed in extreme climates and high humidity commercial and residential applications. * Values pulled from EWC and compared to the SeriousWindows Heavy Commercial series casement window |
